Music Makers teachers Everett Collins - Percussion

Everett Collins is one of the founding members of the Music Makers staff. Everett holds a Masters Degrees from Long Island University and a bachelors degree from CW Post College as well as having earned his Professional Certificate from the Audio Institute of Technology. In addition to Music Makers, Everett is quite busy as a music teacher in the James City County school system. He has worked extensively as a percussionist, arranger, vocalist, and keyboardist most notably with the Isley Brothers. Everett is a member of MENC, AFM, NARAS, Gospel Music Association, AFTRA, ASCAP, VBODA and NAMM. He has published several gospel works under his Deep Faith Music publishing company. Everett Collins is the Director of Music at Music Makers School of Music.


Music Makers teachers Alexis Collins - Clarinet & Saxophone

Alexis holds her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Shaw University in North Carolina and Christopher Newport University. She has taught as Williamsburg Christian Academy as band director and has taught music in Newport News and York County Public Schools. She has also toured with Prosidy 2008 on the East Coast Tour 2007-2008.

Music Makers teachers Steve Hall - Piano & Jazz Theory

Steve has been working as a soloist and with groups since his high school days in Newport News. Steve graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in music in piano performance from Hampton University. Since graduating, Steve has performed with many groups including touring show bands and local bands. As a soloist, Steve has worked for Carnival Cruise Lines as well as many years in local restaurants such as The Williamsburg Inn, The Williamsburg Lodge, Fort Magruder Inn and as a fixture in the Bray Dining Room at Kingsmill.


Music Makers teachers Sheila Johnson - Voice & Piano

Sheila is a vocal major/pianist/ Gospel Recording Artist. She is a featured soloist around the Peninsula/Gloucester and is a Minister of Music at her church. She's performed at the Music Theater Williamsburg as a featured lead vocalist, Winner of the Star 94.1 Gospel Talent Search 07'.Sheila was the former band/choir director at Ware Academy in Gloucester. She is currently finishing her music degree at J. Sargeant Reynolds.


Music Makers teachers Joe Burton - Tuba, Baritone & Trombone

Principal Tuba for the Ft. Monroe U.S. Army Band. He also performs at Busch Gardens and with the Peninsula Hilton Brass, Joe has enjoyed playing, touring and teaching around the world


Music Makers teachers Clint Dye - Guitar

Clint has been playing guitar for more than ten years and has been teaching for about seven of those years. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Composition and a minor in Jazz from Bowling Green State University. As well as being an instructor at Music Makers, Clint also performs at Busch Gardens and with his jazz combo, Timeline Jazz Quartet. His experiences have been leading him to perform in a wide variety of genres including bluegrass, blues, bossa nova, celtic, classical, country, gospel, jazz, metal, original, pop, r & b, rock and world music.
